Meet Abbie
"Every child deserves the opportunity to bloom through ballet."
Welcome to Bloom Ballet Academy! I'm Abbie, and I'm so excited to welcome you to our ballet family.
My own ballet journey began at the age of three, when my parents decided they'd had enough of me stomping around the living room and enrolled me in ballet classes! What started as a way to channel my energy quickly became a lifelong passion.
Growing up, I was captivated by the beauty of classical ballet, particularly productions such as Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake. I loved how graceful and effortless the dancers looked. Although, I soon discovered just how much dedication and hard work goes into every performance!
Dance has always been a way for me to express myself without words, and today I feel incredibly fortunate to share that passion with the next generation of dancers.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe ballet is about so much more than learning steps.
My aim is to create a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe, supported and celebrated. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to dance, build confidence and develop a lifelong love of ballet.
Parents often tell me how patient and encouraging I am, and I pride myself on helping every child feel valued and included. Alongside developing beautiful technique from the very beginning, I want every lesson to be enjoyable, inspiring and full of smiles.
My greatest joy as a teacher is watching children grow-not only as dancers, but as confident young people.
My Experience
Teaching has been my passion since 2020, when I discovered just how rewarding it is to help children grow in confidence through dance. Since then, I have taught children from 18 months through to 16 years of age, creating classes that are fun, supportive and encouraging for every stage of a child's development.
I joined Potten End Ballet School in 2022, where I've had the privilege of teaching many wonderful young dancers and watching them develop not only in their ballet technique, but also in confidence, resilience and a love of dance.
Alongside my teaching experience, I trained at Lorraine's School of Dance and Drama, where I took exams in ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern while also gaining experience across a wide range of dance styles, including Jazz, Pointe Work, Contemporary and many more. I later continued my dance education at West Herts College, where I achieved three A* grades in my BTEC Dance qualification. I am also a qualified Acrobatics coach!
Owning my own ballet school has always been a dream of mine, and I feel incredibly grateful to begin this exciting new chapter with Bloom Ballet Academy. I am so excited to share my passion for ballet with every child who walks through the door, helping them grow not only as dancers, but as confident young people. I can't wait to welcome you and your child into our ballet family. 🩷🩰
